  • What is
    Exosome?

Exosomes are small vesicles (approximately 30-150 nanometers in diameter) that are secreted by cells and play a crucial role in cell-to-cell communication. They carry a wide range of molecular contents such as proteins, lipids, mRNA, and microRNA (miRNA), which they can transfer to recipient cells, influencing their function and behavior.

  • Exosomes are minuscule extracellular vesicles, essentially tiny parcels of signaling information, each being a thousandth the size of a cell. They are generated by almost all cell types as a form of intercellular communication, functioning as a natural paracrine signaling mechanism that ensures the smooth operation of a healthy body.

These vesicles are packed with critical components such as growth factors, enzymes, receptors, transcription factors, and matrix proteins, which are essential for cell structure, function, and signaling. Additionally, exosomes carry messenger RNA (mRNA), the template for protein synthesis, and micro RNA (miRNA), a key player in intracellular signaling. Thanks to the membrane they share with their parent cells, exosomes efficiently safeguard their cargo of proteins and miRNA from degradation, ensuring safe delivery to the target cell.

  • Upon reaching their target cells, exosomes release their contents, which can directly impact intracellular processes and signaling pathways. The exosomal proteins may prompt the target cell to produce new proteins, while the exosomal mRNA gets translated into regenerative proteins. Moreover, the miRNA from exosomes can modulate the protein production in the target cell by suppressing the synthesis of specific endogenous proteins. This signaling not only influences the immediate target cell but can also affect the exosome loading in subsequent cells, creating a ripple effect that has a more lasting and profound impact than the proteins found in Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) or amniotic fluid alone.

Exosome vs Stem cell

The hot Exosome Market

- Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are cells that have ability to differentiate into other types of cells by external environmental factors. They are known to have anti-inflammatory, immune-modulating, and regenerative abilities.
- Recent reports have shown that exosomes secreted from MSCs possess most of the abilities of MSCs and play a major role in various medical therapeutic effects.
- Exosomes can be combined with existing components or methods to develop new components and new products, so it is estimated that exosomes will replace more than 70% of the current stem cell market.

Plant-Derived Exosome

  • What is plant-derived
    exosome

It is produced in the multivesicular body (MVB) within the cytoplasm and secreted into the apoplast, the space between the cell membrane and the cell wall. This process is involved in plant defense against pathogens, cell wall construction, and intercellular communication. Temporarily, cell wall remodeling enzymes are secreted to pass through the cell wall, and these enzymes have been discovered in exosomes Ref. Question And
Answer

01 Is it usable for injection?
These products are “topical use” cosmetic solutions. These products are not drug products. They are not intended to prevent, treat or cure diseases or medical conditions. They are not intended to be injected or delivered intravenously.
02 RNA and DNA are contained in exosomes. How can you ensure safety without performing nucleic acids tests?
To ensure the safety of RNA and DNA contained in exosomes without performing nucleic acids tests, the following methods can be used: Physical property analysis: You can verify the quality by analyzing the size, shape, and buoyancy density of exosomes. This helps indirectly evaluate the stability of exosomes. Detection of marker proteins: You can verify the quality and purity of exosomes by detecting marker proteins such as Alix, TSG101, flotillin 1, HSP70, and CD9. Functional analysis: You can assess the quality and safety by testing the biological function of exosomes. This is related to how exosomes interact with target cells. Process optimization: It is important to optimize processes that can ensure safety while preserving the biological function of exosomes. For example, packaging techniques that do not interfere with the biological pathway and luminal contents of exosomes can be used.
03 What is ELISA ?
ELISA(Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) analysis is a protein detection method based on antigen-antibody interactions, capable of confirming protein concentrations and assessing concentrations based on standard substances used. In this experiment, analysis was conducted on 50 selected cytokines that hold significant functions.
04 What is a biomarker?
Exosomes are messengers that cells send out, and it can be confirmed that some of the numerous pieces of information contained within the cells still exist within the exosomes. In particular, the membrane proteins present on the exosome membrane have been studied as biomarkers that can be identified through in vitro experiments."
05 What types of plants are utilized to obtain the plant-derived stem cells?
The plant-derived exosomes are specifically extracted from Camellia Stem Cell Exosomes. Benefits of Camellia japonica: - The high “polyphenol” content provides exceptional antioxidant properties, which help prevent skin aging by eliminating free radicals. - Rich in “oleic acid,” it aids in preventing moisture loss, keeping the skin hydrated and soothed. - “Tannin” helps alleviate skin conditions such as atopy and acne by reducing inflammation. - “Catechin” invigorates the skin, calming and revitalizing tired skin. - The abundant vitamin C content prevents melanin formation, thereby improving the appearance of spots and freckles.
06 Do the adipose-derived stem cells (ASC’s) come from a single donor?
Human adipose stem cells are sourced from multiple contracted hospitals and are not restricted to a single donor. Each donation undergoes comprehensive eligibility checks, virus testing, and other stringent evaluations to ensure that only healthy and viable tissues are accepted.
07 How many times can cells be passed from the same donor?
There is no strict limit on the number of passages for donations from the same donor. However, each donation must undergo eligibility checks and virus testing to ensure the safety and quality of the tissues used.
08 Where do the growth factors originate? Are they derived directly from the human adipose stem cells, or are they added separately to the culture media?
Growth factors are naturally present within human adipose-derived stem cells. They are produced in large quantities during the cultivation process, with specific methods varying by company and considered proprietary. Therefore, growth factors are not added artificially at any stage of the process.
